Cart Placement Information for Residential Trash Removal
There is a lot that you can do to ensure an effective trash pickup. Here is a list of common
Do's and
Don'ts.

Do:
Leave at least four feet between carts and other obstacles in order to have sufficient room for the art mechanism on the truck to work.

Don't:
Do not place cart near mailboxes or parked cars.

Do:
Do place cart facing the street with wheels facing the house and lid closed. |
Don't:
Don’t leave lid on cart open. |

Do:
Do place cart closer to the road so the arm can reach it. |
Don't:
Don’t place cart more than five feet from the road. |

Do:
Do put extra bag or item under the lid. This helps to hold it in place while being lifted. |
Don't:
Don’t place extra trash on the top of the cart. |

Do:
Do place extra trash to the side of the cart at least 3 feet from cart. Driver will reload after emptying cart. |
Don't:
Don’t place extra trash in front of cart. |

Do:
Do put cart in a place where there is nothing directly overhead. Telephone and power lines that run parallel to the street are not a problem. |
Don't:
Don’t place cart under tree limbs, or other low clearance objects. |
